The Children’s Ministry at Dunwoody UMC brings together many people and resources to deliver a variety of active, entertaining and educational programs designed just for kids. From Sunday School to Wednesday night programs, 3-year-olds to fifth graders learn about Jesus, build relationships and have fun as we nurture their faith. All children’s programs are open to members and visitors.

Children’s Ministry Mission Statement:

Our mission is to build a dynamic community of children who come to know God's love through scripture, fellowship, missions and the example of adult leaders. The Children’s Ministry seeks to instill a spirit of compassion, love and stewardship for community, both inside and outside the church walls.

Plugged In | K-5th Grade

Plugged In is elementary Sunday School that focuses on plugging kids into the power of God using the 252 Basics curriculum. Children participate in age-level small groups for half the hour then join a larger group setting for active, energized worship and story time. Our goal is for every child who participates in Plugged In to grow up knowing 3 basic truths: Wisdom: I need to make the wise choice, Faith: I can trust God no matter what and Friendship: I should treat others the way I want to be treated. These students follow a simplified format in the Summer months, but classes still meet.

All children must be checked in at our KidCheck kiosk located in the Activities Building before going to their designated classrooms. Each child will be given a name tag with their location, activity, and any special needs noted. If you do not yet have a KidCheck account, please click here to set it up.

Students will participate in an Amazing Race, hear from pastors and non-profit leaders, complete a single day offsite service project, and spend the last day celebrating their successes with a field day and treats. This is sure to be an age-appropriate program that makes Scripture come alive as we love our neighbors.
