Our Mission

Our mission is to build a community of children who come to know God's love with a spirit of compassion, love, and stewardship inside and outside of church walls.

Deck the Halls

December 1

Dunwoody United Methodist Church Children's Ministry is delighted to welcome you to create an Advent story kit to celebrate the season with your family! This is a great way for families to start talking about the meaning of the season and a fun time of safely-distanced fellowship! Arrive at the Fellowship Hall anytime between 5 - 7 pm and work for as short or as long as you'd like on the projects. If you prefer to grab and go, let us know and we'll have take-home kits available.

Come to the Manger

December 5

Kick off the Christmas season on Dec. 5 with a family concert, food trucks, live nativity and carols from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the DUMC parking lot. We welcome the community to this free event (food trucks are pay as you go). And, don't miss the great photo opportunities of the live nativity and Christmas Tree forest!

Club 45 Evenings

Club 45 Evenings offer 4th and 5th graders a monthly meeting aimed solely at their age group. We’ll use the monthly Children’s theme used in all other programming for the month, but delivered in a single worship service. In addition, the kids will fellowship across a meal and participate in interactive activities aimed at digging deeper into the lesson and building community.

This is a drop off event, but please walk your child(ren) to the meeting space to check in before leaving.

Sunday School

Spark Sunday School

If your kids aren't quite ready to sit through the Contemporary service, or you only have an hour this Sunday, drop them off on the Preschool Hallway for a revised version of the 10:00 a.m. Sunday School lesson.

Plugged In Sunday School

Join us weekly for Sunday School! Kids will meet in grade level small groups for discussion and large group worship and Bible lesson. Drop off is in the Preschool Hallway (PreK - 3rd Grade) or the Arts & Crafts Room (4th - 5th grade).

Wednesday Night

For Children's Choir details and registration, please visit our Music page.

Cherub Preschool Choir

Open to preschoolers ages 3 (by Sept. 1) through 4 years old. Children are introduced to singing in their “singing voice”, playing rhythm instruments, and what it means to be a choir. The children learn that through music even the youngest of God’s children can participate in worship.

Celebration Choir, Carol Choir & The Choristers

Open to elementary aged children, Kindergarten through 5th grade. Children build on their musical knowledge learned in Cherub Choir while also beginning to learn how to read music. Members begin singing in parts, expand their knowledge of musical notation, and begin preparing for leadership in worship services. Special events for the year include concerts, Christmas Eve services and community outreach.

Children’s Tone Chime Choir

This beginning choir uses tone chimes, which are similar to hand bells, and is for third through fifth-graders. Music experience is helpful, but not required. Performances are at various services throughout the year.

Faith at Home

We love having your children with us, and we work to have as many opportunities to connect as possible. However, we know that out of all the waking hours of the week, we’re only going to get 1-3 hours to help your kids know about the love of God. In that light, we are happy to provide you with ideas, materials and techniques to help build faith at home! Each week in Sunday school, we provide some questions for discussion. We encourage families to talk about them at home! Check out our Facebook page each Monday for a summary of the lesson to help spark discussion throughout the week!

I would love to help! Please contact me for more information. I look forward to hearing from you!
