Our Mission: "Creating spaces for students to ENCOUNTER Jesus and RESPOND with their lives."
About Us

Dunwoody UMC's Youth Ministry exists to partner with families in supporting the growth of student relationships with Jesus. We realize that this partnership requires effort on both sides, and at DYM, we do our very best to provide a variety of creative ministry opportunities that help students fall more in love with Jesus each time they walk through our doors. We offer many different ways to get plugged in because we know that each individual student is in a unique place on their spiritual journey. We aim to meet students where they are and then help them GROW deeper in their faith.
Our hope is that you will find a ministry that you can get involved with this year. We don't expect anyone to participate in everything, but we DO want you to find at least one weekly ministry to participate in and fully commit to being a part of. If you have any questions about our ministry, please get in touch with us. We would love to share our vision and goals with you! We're excited about walking alongside your family on this faith journey. We look forward to supporting, challenging, and guiding you to grow in your desire to be more like Jesus.

Confirmation Program

When: 10:10am - 10:50am
Where: Confirmation Room
Who: 8th Graders
Take a deep breath and get ready to plant yourself fully into the DUMC Family! Confirmation at Dunwoody United Methodist Church is a school-year-long process involving youth, parents, coaches, and clergy. It's a special time when Confirmands learn about and experience the Christian faith. They learn about the Holy Trinity, the Bible, United Methodism, and how to continue growing as a committed disciple of Jesus Christ.
The year begins with a required kick-off retreat and continues with sessions, and special activities/trips. Our formal class sessions are led by our Youth Staff, Clergy, and confirmation coaches. These classes will meet most Sundays from September through February in one of the Youth Classrooms.
DUMC's Confirmation program is a comprehensive package of meetings, classes, and events for Confirmands, Coaches, and Parents. It is intended that all participants be involved in the whole range of these respective activities. In our orientation meeting, we will discuss the expectations that go along with the Confirmation program. Our goal is that Confirmation will not be a completion of something but the beginning of a student's journey with the church as we all, together, learn to walk with a God who loves us!

Mission Trips
Middle School Mission Trip

Our Middle School students are in store for an amazing adventure! This Mission Trip allows students who have just completed the 6th grade through 8th grade a chance to experience mission work for the first time. In the past, students have worked in the St. Simons/Brunswick area, Orlando, FL and Gulf Shores, AL, to venturing along the NC/SC coastline serving churches and NGOs in Myrtle Beach, SC and Wilmington, NC. On past trips, they have done landscaping at a school, cleaned and prepared a building for a homeless shelter, ran food pantries, organized clothes, and disaster relief. They also enjoy some time at the beach, mountains or theme parks.
High School Mission Trip-Costa Rica

Senior High Students have the opportunity to serve on an international mission trip for one week in June over their Summer Breaks to minister, love, and serve different people around us. We partner each year with Praying Pelican Missions in connection with local churches and pastors in Costa Rica. Students will have the opportunities to serve through helping with food distribution, VBS Days in local schools, Bingo Nights for senior adults, helping with light construction projects, and just hanging out and spending moments with students from the community in their downtime!
