The Music Ministry of Dunwoody UMC will celebrate the 250th Birthday of the United States with a concert on Sunday, June 28 at 4:00 p.m. in our Sanctuary. In honor of the historic anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, the Chancel Choir will present "The Testament of Freedom" by American composer Randall Thompson, accompanied by organ, percussion, and brass ensemble. The piece was originally commissioned by the University of Virginia to celebrate the 200th birthday of Thomas Jefferson, using the text of several of his writings. The concert will feature a variety of additional patriotic and American music as we honor our servicemen and women and pay tribute to our country's rich history. The concert is free and open to the public.
