What is 180°?

180° began in 2002, founded by Reverend Stephen Streett, with a handful of teenagers as an outreach for teens at Dunwoody United Methodist Church. Mid Hi Girls Club

The new mid high girls club is an opportunity for the girls to sit down in a more comfortable place and talk about the issues of everyday life. It is a way to look at life from a spiritual stand so God is able to work in the lives of each girl to help overcome the struggles in the difficult stages of life. It is a discussion based lesson so it gives the girls an opportunity to look at the similarities of others as well as understanding the support for one another. It is fun and exciting to meet one another and discover each person that one may never have known because like our relationship with God everyday we learn something new about ourselves as well as the greatness and power of God in everyones lives. The club meets the first monday of each month in homes.

What is an Acolyte?

The word acolyte is taken from an ancient Greek word meaning companion, attendant, or helper. Acolytes work closely with the pastors and take part in church services to help people worship God. Every Sunday, the acolytes light and extinguish the candles on the altar. Since ancient times, light and fire have reminded people that God is here with us. Acolytes also assist with Baptisms.

Boys and girls in 6th through 12th grade are invited to participate in this important ministry. For more information on how to get involved, please contact Brittany Sander’s 770-394-0675 extension 104. We have our acolyte training packaged in a nice video for you watch directly from our site. Click here for the Acolyte Training DVD!
