On Friday we will remember the horror and cruelty of the cross and the death of Jesus.   You might ask yourself how in the world did Jesus allow this to happen.  He could go to the cross because he had absolute faith in God.  If Easter doesn’t say anything else to us, it says you can put truth in a grave, but it will not stay there.  You can nail it to a cross, shut it up in a tomb, but it will rise!  Jesus could go to the cross because he had absolute faith in God.

We will all face “Fridays” in our lives.  We are speaking about those times in life when there seems to be no way through, no way around for us.  Listen to the first words spoken on Easter morning, “Do not be afraid!”  They were true then and they are true now.   Yes “Fridays” will come to our lives but Sunday is coming.   God is always out ahead of us.  Remember in the Easter story even the disciples were afraid, Jesus was so much more than they had ever imagined.  They thought they had understood, but God was ahead of them.

“Do not be afraid” was an announcement the first disciples had to hear and it is one we still need to hear today.   Our lives can be shattered but God did not, and will not desert us.  The power of Easter is that not even death can defeat Him.

May God bless you and yours,
