Habifactspic1For 30 years, Atlanta Habitat has served qualified, working families, building primarily in the city of Atlanta and Fulton County. Now we have become one of the largest of 1,500 affiliates of Habitat for Humanity in the United States since our founding in 1983.

Building Houses

  • Atlanta Habitat homes are constructed using green building standards, producing energy-efficient homes that protect the environment and reduce utility bills.
  • House sponsors help cover construction costs by providing financial and volunteer support, which helps save $35,000–$40,000 on each house.

Strengthening Families

  • Families qualify to purchase Atlanta Habitat homes by meeting stringent requirements regarding steady income, having good credit, and being first-time homebuyers.

  • Atlanta Habitat families are required to take at least 12 education classes focused on financial literacy and home maintenance.
  • Qualified families pay for their homes through a 30-year, no-interest mortgage.
