Volunteers of the month . . .

Anne and Lou West
They love teaching Kindergarten at the nine am hour. They put a lot of extra time and effort into making the lesson fun for the kids. Anne likes to create fun crafts, and both of them have a special way of showing hospitality to the children in their Sunday School class. Anne and Lou have a third grade son, and they just love seeing the kids come alive with excitement over the Bible stories.

Margaret Gallagher
Is a wife, nurse, and mother of two. She has a heart for worship and Sunday school. Margaret put together our worship readiness program to prepare children to be participants in worship. She rotates every three years teaching her son’s Sunday school class one year, her daughter’s class the next, and then spends the year with her husband attending adult Sunday school in the Brand New Day class. Margaret is a diligent teacher who provides continuity for the children and has a heart for the kids to really understand and build a foundation from the Bible stories.

Amy and Chris Hanks
Amy is a preschool teacher and Chris is a professor at Georgia State teaching classes on entrepreneurship. They have two children Brian who is in third grade and Catherine who is four. Amy and Chris have a special bond with children and have proven to be exceptional Sunday school teachers. Amy and Chris are frequent volunteers with Vacation Bible School, lock-ins, and much more. We are very excited to have them on our team leading our children to Christ.

Joyce Many

Joyce is a professor and Chair of the Language, Literacy, and Social Studies Education Division Department of MSIT Georgia State University. How is that for a qualified Sunday school teacher. Joyce has two children Miranda who is four and a daughter who is in college. She has enjoyed teaching Sunday school and providing a level of continuity for the children. She taught for the O6-07 year and is continuing this year with the same age group. She has a big heart for children and really wants the kids to have a safe and exciting Sunday school experience.

These teachers have been highlighted this month because all four of them helped mentor the new round of Sunday school teachers. These “master” teachers showed the others the ropes during Sunday school training, and really got the other teachers excited about the Godsplash program. This is only a highlight of six of our one hundred and sixteen teachers. Just imagine the type of love, dedication, and spiritual direction your child is getting in their classroom. It is a honor to teach and our privilege to work with such teachers.
