CLUB 45 SUNDAY SCHOOL

Sunday school for preteens in grades 4 and 5 is at 9:00am and 10:30am each Sunday morning, except for designated holidays. Lessons are taught in 4 week units, with classes rotating to a new unit every 4 weeks. Check-in is in the upstairs education hallway, and pickup is in the chapel at the end of the hour (unless the student has written permission to meet parents elsewhere in the church).  Preteens will have the opportunity to explore and apply their faith in a variety of different contexts.

The purpose of the United Methodist Church

“The mission of the church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.”

Dunwoody United Methodist Church

Mission Statement and Commitment to Children

created by the Children’s Council

As people of faith and members of the United Methodist Church, we partner together with one another to fulfill the mission of the United Methodist Church and the commitment we make at each child’s baptism.

Together, we recognize the children in our midst as part of Christ’s body and this United Methodist community of faith.

We follow Jesus’ example as we strive to welcome them, bless them, teach them, love and nurture them. We will listen to them, learn from them, care for them and pray for them. We will take time to be in relationship with them and to create a place where they have a sense of belonging, acceptance and self-worth.

We will reach out beyond the borders of this church into the community and around the world to meet the needs of all children.

While creating this spirit of welcome and excitement for our children and their families, we do all these things for their sake and in the name of Christ.
