Sunday School Co-chairs

  1. Description – Assist with the planning and execution of Sunday School, including recruiting teachers, enrolling children, planning the curriculum, arranging for substitutes, keeping the rooms clean and organized, and organizing a Summer curriculum.
  2. Time Commitment – Children’s council meetings every other month.  2 hours/week on average.

Sunday School Teacher training

  1. Description - Organize and conduct Sunday School teacher training three times a year, once each in the fall, spring, and summer.  Create and distribute applications for children for Sunday School in the fall, spring, and summer.  Organize snack plan and coordinate volunteers in keeping snacks replenished.

Sunday School curriculum volunteer

  1. Description - Separate the children’s curriculum and pass it out in the rooms.  Prepare the notebooks and food for Sunday school teacher training.

Sunday School Teacher

  1. Description - Teach a children’s Sunday School class (5 yr old  - 5th grade) at the 9:00 or 10:30 hour.
  2. Time Commitment - 2-3 hours/week; 1.5 hours to prepare and 1.5 hours to conduct
  3. Recommended skills – Love of kids, Patience, Sense of humor, Desire to teach
  4. Key dates - Weekly

Sunday School Teacher appreciation chair

  1. Description - Coordinate two thank-you breakfasts (one per semester) and plan the thank you gifts for the other months of the “school year” for the Sunday School Teachers.
  2. Time Commitment – 1-2 hours/month
  3. Recommended skills - Willingness, Organizational
  4. Key dates - Monthly

Sunday School Teacher appreciation volunteer

  1. Description – Acquire and assemble the Sunday School Teacher thank you gifts for distribution.
  2. Time Commitment – 2 people for 1-2 hours/semester

Sunday School Floaters chair

  1. Description – Recruit and train volunteers (like ushers – week 1, week 2, etc.) to help each Sunday – substitute teach, other tasks as needed.

Sunday School Floater (Substitute)

  1. Description – Volunteer at either the 9:00 or 10:30 Sunday School hour to help out as needed.  Assignments could include substitute teaching.

Sunday School Arts and Crafts chair

  1. Description – Plan out crafts for Sunday School.  Recruit and organize volunteers (like ushers – week 1, week 2, etc.) to prepare the weekly crafts.  Recruit and organize volunteers to clean out Sunday School cabinets.

Sunday School Arts and Crafts volunteer

  1. Description – Prepare the weekly Sunday School crafts on a rotational basis like an usher (week 1, week 2, etc.)
  2. Time Commitment – 2-3 hours/week on assigned week per quarter, per month, or per week to suite volunteer’s schedule.

Sunday School Facilities organizer

  1. Description – Clean out, organize, and replenish Sunday School room cabinets, basement, costume room, and work rooms once a quarter.
  2. Time Commitment – 2-3 hours/quarter

Sunday School Snack volunteer

  1. Description – Replenish snack supply for Sunday School.

Sunday School Security checker

  1. Description – Assist in execution of Safe Sanctuary by handing out security wristbands and monitoring doors.
