Connections - Room C-201
Connections is a class for single and married adults (50+) who wish to study God’s word, discussing the Bible and relevant topics generated by a variety of meaningful materials. Member-led lessons, video-taped presentations, group discussions, and guest speakers are among the variety of teaching methods. Service to others is important to this group as many class members participate regularly in church-related volunteer projects. The class maintains an active social calendar including monthly dinners out or in members’ homes, birthday celebrations, lunches after church, sporting events, and plays. Early Birds - Francis Asbury B
Do you love to sing? You can sing and also go to this terrific Sunday School class. Even if you don’t sing, you’re welcome. The class meets from 9:30 to 10:15 every Sunday except for the first Sunday in the month when they go instead to sing and take communion with the congregation. The lessons are varied. There are Bible lessons and also discussions of contemporary issues. Early Birds is made up of all age groups, singles and married couples. Members join in with the rest of the Chancel Choir during the year for social activities and trips. Contact Gary Miller, 770-650-9145.

Faith Quest - Thomas Coke

Family Focus - Parlor
A class mostly for persons with middle and high school-aged children. Issues of parenting, church history, Bible stories, and Christian theology are studied in a discussion format. Classes are informal with group discussion and member involvement highly encouraged. Social functions give class members an opportunity to get to know each other. Time Out (Meets at 9:15) - Room 110-C
Expectant parents and those with infants and young children comprise this class. Time Out discussions vary from parenting and relationship studies to current world and spiritual topics. The Bible is studied and used to guide members in their roles as parents, friends, spouses and individuals. Wing and A Prayer - Francis Asbury Room A
Wing & A Prayer is a class for parents of young children. This class focuses on marriage enrichment, Christian parenting, Bible studies, incorporating Christian values into daily activities, and mission outreach. Wing & A Prayer class members socialize often outside of the Sunday morning schedule. Included are family outings, couple get-togethers, and men/women nights out. Women In Christ - Conference Room
This is an intergenerational class for women who are married or single, with or without children, who are interested in Bible and faith study. It is highly discussion-oriented and interactive in nature. The class draws its study and discussion from a variety of sources and from the work of scholars and theologians who represent both traditional and more contemporary perspectives that challenge thinking. Brand New Day - Room 110

Brand New Day is a group of married couples in their 30’s and 40’s with preschool and elementary age children and an occasional newborn added to our family. At Brand New Day, our focus is centered on investing in relationships. This focus includes relationships with couples and families that have similar interests and who are at similar places in their lives. This focus also includes our relationship with God and with Jesus Christ and our relationship with our community of fellow Christian believers. At Brand New Day, we discuss Christian parenting, studies on the Bible, biblical history, social issues and other related topics. Cornerstone - Room 110-C
The Cornerstone class is comprised of couples with or without young children in their 20’s and early 30’s. Lessons are taught by class members and have included topics such as World Religions, C.S. Lewis’ “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,” the history of Methodism, Religion in Art and Women of the Bible. Members plan a variety of social, service and fellowship opportunities throughout the year. Crusaders - Room 258/259
The mission of this class is to worship God by studying His Word, promoting the general welfare of DUMC and fostering love and friendship among the church’s caring older adult members. Teachers from the class lead discussions based on scripture and selected resource materials. Annual fund-raising projects help the elderly and other mission projects. Faith & Fellowship - Scout Lodge (Girl Scout Room)

Fellowship - Room C-103 (W.A.R.)
A closely-knit, supportive group of senior adult friends. The Bible is used for lively discussions with give-and-take on all sides. The class is very active in its support of missionaries, local service projects and fellowship activities. Social events include occasional retreats, holiday parties, lunch/dinner gatherings, birthday and anniversary celebrations and visits from the missionaries supported by the class. Incredible Couples - Room 254
This is a class of couples primarily in their 30’s & early 40’s, with preschool and elementary age children. It is comprised of individuals with diverse religious backgrounds. The class studies a variety of topics, including Bible characters and books, the beliefs of the United Methodist Church, contemporary concerns related to living a Christian lifestyle, i.e., parenting issues and marital enrichment. The class has various teachers from September to May. Social outings, supper clubs, and mission work provide a setting for Christian study, fellowship, and fun. Interpreters - Francis Asbury A
The purpose of the Interpreters class is to study the Bible and discuss the meaning and relevance of scriptures in daily life. The International Lesson Series is used and led by class members, with intermittent class sessions on different specialized topics during the year. Social functions are held from time to time throughout the year. Most members are active in church life and volunteer services for the community. A warm welcome awaits all who visit this class. This is a diverse class of single and married adults, age 40+ with or without children. Lessons are led by class members, using biblically-based resources chosen by the class. Class members are seeking to relate scripture to daily life through open discussion. The class holds a variety of social functions and members are actively involved in church projects to provide support and fellowship in each other’s faith journeys. This class, 50’s and older, wants to learn more about the Bible and contemporary issues, and explore how the two interrelate. In addition to supporting DUMC missions, the class undertakes its own local outreach projects. Class members along with guest teachers lead the class which alternates between Bible study and a wide variety of topics that relate to raising families in today’s world and Bible study. The class holds social functions and assists with the mission and ministries of the DUMC church community. Members of the class typically have children from preschool to high school age.
