The jungle will be jumping with jazz as we cast kids for a MAD experience with the Music and Performing Arts program at Dunwoody UMC. Express yourself and build confidence while learning the colorful characters and toe-tapping jungle rhythms of Disney’s classic JungleBook.
Using both sacred and secular drama and music, the Performing Arts program enriches our understanding of what it means to be human and humane, to be caring and responsible members of a community of faith and the community at large.
In this way, we glorify God.
The program's interests are broad and include lectionary interpretations giving us the opportunity to bring our understanding of the scriptures to life. Most of the productions are secular works that honestly and/or humorously reflect the nature of the world in which the church finds itself and to which we must speak. In addition to providing fellowship and entertainment to our church and community, the program offers and encourages a rich, intergenerational experience, as well as numerous volunteer opportunities in the areas of performance and support activities. Offering the "playing" field for all participants to bring their time and talents to this church, this community, is what it is all about.
