DUMC Preschool Inclement Weather Policy

1. If DeKalb County Schools are closed for inclement weather, Dunwoody UMC Preschool will also be closed.
2. If DeKalb County Schools are delayed opening for two hours, Dunwoody UMC Preschool will be closed.
3. If the parking lot at Dunwoody UMC Preschool remains dangerous for both automobiles and foot traffic, Dunwoody UMC Preschool will be closed, and we will send out an emergency closure notice via e-mail, facebook and twitter.
4. If school is open, but weather conditions deteriorate during the morning, we will dismiss no later than regular noon carpool time, and Lunch Bunch and Extended Day will be canceled.

2013-2014 Extended Day Enrichment Program

General Information

Dunwoody United Methodist Church Preschool offers many wonderful opportunities for students to participate in unique enrichment activities as an extension of their school day. Children in our Extended Day (EXD) classes benefit from high level instruction, in-depth content coverage, and the convenience of attending their classes in a familiar environment with their classroom friends.

Our Program

Chapel Time

A developmentally appropriate chapel time, complete with music, prayer and a message from one of our ministerial staff members, is offered each week to our three, four and five year olds.

Music Classes

Music with one of our trained music teachers is offered to all children enrolled in our school. During the year all phases of music are covered and children experience many different forms of music. They learn songs, use instruments, play music games. Twice a year we have a music program: at Christmas for threes and fours, and at the end of the year. The major goal of our music program is to expose children to many styles of music, and to encourage a love of music.
